Who is a Career Angel?

 

Una Career Angel, also called "Career Advisor", provides information, advice and guidance to help people make realistic choices about their education, training and work.

 

He/She can help a wide range of people, from school teenagers over the age of 17 up to adults who may want a career change or need help with further training.

 

 

A Career Angel can help to identify options for suitable careers, build CVs, identify skills gaps, advise on where to search for jobs and help with the application, and locate relevant training courses.

 

 

 

What can you expect to do with a Career Angel?

 

A Career Advisor can do a variaty of activities. From a DreamingFuture Career Angel, you can expect a list of activities that will include:

 

• interviewing people one to one or in small groups to discuss career or education options;

• identifying skills gaps and how to deal with them;

• helping young people to draw up action plans for employment, education and training and supporting them to achieve these goals;

• advising people on how to source relevant training courses or qualifications and what funding might be available;

• providing advice on CV, applications, job hunting and interview techniques;

• running small group sessions or larger presentations on all aspects of careers work and topics related to personal development;

• helping people to understand the current job market;
